Most people know about the day my dishwasher bought the farm. Well, it's back from the dead! My hubby fixed it and so far so good. So, this brings me to today's generic vs name brand challenge. I've been a Cascade girl forever and I swear by it. However, with the economy going down the toilet and the government finally admitting we're in a recession (DUH??!!), I look for ways to stop the cash from flying out of my account so fast. Hubby and I decided to try Walmart brand dishwashing liquid. So with a little nervousness I put it in my cart, bought it, and used it. I have to tell you, I'm impressed. I've used it for about one month now and notice that my dishes come out just as clean as they did with Cascade. We've always used Jet Dry in our dishwasher, so this comparison was done w/ the use of Jet Dry and my dishes are just as clean and spot free as ever. At under $3.00 for 75 oz, I save lots of $$$$ over time. Great Value Dishwashing Gel is exactly what it says it is... a great value! With a family of 7 and the unfair amount of dishes I'm forced to do, every bit helps. :)

Good to know, Pam! I'm a Cascade girl myself but always wondered about the Wal-mart brand...might give it a try! ;)

LOL Lissaloo! Tell me about it. My poor vacuum has electrical tape holding the cord together!

...often it feels like my entire day revolves around the dirtying and then CLEANING of the dishes everyday!
now how about Joy(my trusted dishwashing liquid) VS. a generic? or joy vs dawn(is that the one that says it helps your hands?)
